Stock market benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty continued to trade sharply lower on Friday late morning session as tensions soared between India and Pakistan fuelling fears of a wider conflict.
At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 79476.69 down by -858.12 points or by -1.07 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24012.05 down by -261.75 points or by -1.08 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 80032.93 and intraday low of 78968.34 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24164.25 and intraday low of 23935.75
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3452.20,+3.96%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3495.20,+3.92%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 704.50,+3.31%), State Bank of India (Rs. 776.40,+1.00%), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1394.80,-2.73%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11354.50,-2.36%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 300.65,-2.34%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 8645.45,-1.96%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 333.20,-1.93%), among others.
