Benchmark equity indices rallied on Friday, with the Sensex soaring 746.95 points and the Nifty crossing the 25,000 mark, following the RBI’s larger-than-expected 50 basis points interest rate cut — the third in a row — along with a reduction in the cash reserve ratio.
The moves are aimed at boosting liquidity and supporting the economy amid ongoing geopolitical tensions and tariff-related challenges.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 82188.99 up by 746.95 points or by 0.92 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25003.05 up by 252.15 points or by 1.02 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 82299.89 and intraday low of 81140.11 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25029.5 and intraday low of 24671.45
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 9373.05,+4.93%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1195.20,+3.15%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12443.90,+2.64%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 823.20,+2.50%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1989.40,+2.36%), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1871.25,-0.39%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 157.50,-0.32%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1679.95,-0.20%), among others.
