Indian equities traded higher after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) monetary policy committee (MPC) kept the repo rate unchanged at 5.5 per cent and maintained stance at 'Neutral'.
At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 80810.85 up by 543.23 points or by 0.68 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24777.2 up by 166.1 points or by 0.67 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 80954.15 and intraday low of 80159.9 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24812 and intraday low of 24605.95
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 701.30,+3.06%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2048.40,+2.72%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1161.95,+2.66%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1630.00,+2.20%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1376.50,+2.11%), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 985.00,-1.36%), State Bank of India (Rs. 864.50,-0.92%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 15893.80,-0.84%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2331.10,-0.81%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 12131.00,-0.76%), among others.
