Indian equities ended their eight-day losing streak after the Reserve Bank of India’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) kept the repo rate steady at 5.5 per cent with a ‘Neutral’ stance. The central bank retained its FY26 GDP growth forecast at 6.5 per cent but lowered the CPI inflation projection to 3.1 per cent from 3.7 per cent estimated in June.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 80983.31 up by 715.69 points or by 0.89 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24836.3 up by 225.2 points or by 0.92 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 81068.43 and intraday low of 80159.9 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24867.95 and intraday low of 24605.95
