Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty found firmer footing on Monday after enduring a sharp sell-off over the previous five trading sessions, as bargain hunting emerged in energy, banking, and metal stocks, lifting overall market sentiment.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 83878.17 up by 301.93 points or by 0.36 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25790.25 up by 106.95 points or by 0.42 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 83962.33 and intraday low of 82861.07 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25813.15 and intraday low of 25473.4
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 183.20,+2.75%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 905.75,+2.68%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2896.35,+2.54%), State Bank of India (Rs. 1015.05,+1.50%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2406.05,+1.36%), among others.
