The Sensex and Nifty trimmed their losses in afternoon trade on Friday, supported by gains in IT and banking stocks, although weakness in auto, metal and oil & gas shares kept the benchmark indices in negative territory.
At 14:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 76086.16 down by -305.23 points or by -0.4 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23776 down by -93.6 points or by -0.39 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 76210.95 and intraday low of 75474.43 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23823.6 and intraday low of 23606.3
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1269.20,+1.96%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 284.10,+0.96%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1231.80,+0.72%), Trent Ltd. (Rs. 2893.20,+0.66%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2255.75,+0.60%), among others.
