India's unemployment rate held steady at 5.6% in June, unchanged from May, according to government data released on Tuesday.
The Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI) had earlier introduced the monthly Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) in April to provide real-time insights into joblessness among eligible workers.
As per the latest Current Weekly Status (CWS) data, the unemployment rate for individuals of all ages remained at 5.6% in both May and June 2025, slightly up from 5.1% recorded in April.
