YEAR EVENTS
1972
- J.J. Exporters, a partnership firm was incorporated on 29th December as a private limited company under the name "J.J.Exporters Pvt. Ltd. It was converted into a public limited company on 12.10.1973. The organisation has 28 years of history in the manufacturing and exporting of silk fabrics and garments. 
- The Company's primary activity is the export of silk fabrics. It develops designs for silk fabrics in-house and gets them woven from handloom weavers in Bangalore and Bhagalpur. The Company has yarn dyeing facility at Bangalore and has fabric dyeing and finishing facility at Bhagalpur.
- The Company is one of the top exporters of silk fabrics from India and has won recognition and awards from various government agencies and councils for its export performance.
- The Company has won over 30 awards in its history with at least one award being won every year since 1968. It has won the highest exporter award 11 times (For a complete list of awards, see below). It is recognised as a Trading House by the Government of India. 1968-73 Central Silk Board - award for consistency in Export Performance.

- The Company issued 12,00,000 No. of Equity Shares of Rs.10/- each for cash at a premium of Rs.60/- per Equity Share aggregating Rs.840 lacs during the financial year.
- Mr. G.P. Fatehpuria, Mrs. Kusum Khemka and Mrs. Aruna Jhunjhunwala resigned from the Board effective October 6, 1994.
- The Company was awarded the status of Trading House during the year.

1996
- The Company had undertaken modernisation of yarn dying facilities and establishing yarn preparatory section at Bangalore and modernisation of fabric dyeing facilities at Bhagalpur.
- Most of the machines at Bhagalpur have been installed except one Felt Calender. Dyeing machines and effluent treatment plant at Bangalore have also been installed and are working satisfactorily.
- Mrs. Laxmi Jhunjhunwala and Mr. S. Jalan retire by rotation and being eligible offer themselves for reappointment.

1997
- Mr. J. Narayan resigned from the Board effective April 29. Mr. M. L. Gulrajani and Mr. P.J. Sheth retire by rotation and being eligible offer themselves for reappointment.
- The Company's two subsidiaries, are J. J. Holdings Ltd. and Tanushree Silks Ltd.

1998
- The Directors also propose a joint venture Company in Belgium in the current year in order to facilitate better marketing of the Company's products in Europe. 

1999
- Mr. Arun Kr. Shraff, a Whole Time Director resigned from the Directorship of the Company during the year with effect from 1.2.99.
- The company acquired 52,15,000 shares of JJ SPECTRUM SILK LIMITED from, its overseas promoter M/s. Ostertag Hausamann Faes AG and it's nominee during the year.
- JJ SPECTRUM SILK LIMITED has also become a subsidiary of the Company. The Company also subscribed to 200000
- 10% Redeemable Cumulative Preference Shares of Rs. 100/- each in J. J. Spectrum Silk Ltd. during the year.

2000
- J. J. Holdings Ltd. a wholly subsidiary of the company is proposed to be merged with the Company w.e.f. 01.04.2000 subject to the approval of Honourable High Court of Calcutta.
- The company has acquired 100% Equity Shares of Pooja Creations Pvt. Ltd. which has become a wholly owned subsidiary of the company and the said subsidiary company has currently undertaking a project for manufacture and exports of garments.
- The Company has entered into an agreement with the National Security Depository Limited (NSDL) for dematerialisation of the Company's shares and the Company has got the ISIN No.INE408B01015.
- During the year under review, Company acquired 29,994 shares of Mysore Rubbers Ltd., By virtue of this Mysore Rubbers Ltd. has become as subsidiary of the Company. 

2002
- J.J.Exporters Ltd has informed that the Board have noted the resignation of Mr Pawan Kumar Chomal, Company Secretary &appointed Mr B L Banthia Finance Controller of the Company as Finance Controller & Company Secretary.
-J.J. Exporters Ltd has informed that the Board of Directors reappointed Mr R P Todi as Whole Time Director for a term of 5 years. The Board has also appointed Mrs Laxmi Jhunjhunwala as a Whole Time Director for a period of 5 years.
