    History of Company

    The company was promoted by the members of the TVS Family on 25th January, 1985, under the name of Upaasana Finance Private Limited with a share capital of Rs. 5 lacs. Subsequently it became a Deemed Public Company and the share capital increased to Rs. 30 lacs. The total holding of the promoters stands at Rs. 3 crores as on date. The name of the Company was changed to 'UPASANA FINANCE LIMITED' with effect from 09.01.1995.

    For nine years Upasana Finance Ltd has been in the business of money - leasing, hire purchase and fixed deposits.

    Upasana's results for the year ended March, 1994 showed tremendous growth over that of the previous year. Its Gross Income went up by 31%, reserves by 42% and deposit base rose by 104%. The total deposits of the company as on date amounts to Rs.1700 lacs.
