Originally the company was a wholly owned Subsidiary of Maheshwari Mills Ltd.,which in turn was a subsidiary of Piramal Spg.& Wvg. Mills ltd. with effect from 28th December, 1977 it became a wholly owned subsidiary of Piramal Spg.& Wvg.Mills Ltd.

Effective from 10th November, 1986, the company name was changed to "Amal Rasayan Ltd." from Piramal Rasayan Ltd.

2008

-Company name has been changed from Amal Products Ltd to Amal Ltd.

2014 -Company has appointed Ms. Mahalakshmi Subramanian as an Additional Director of the Company.

2023 -The company issued rights shares of Rs. 10 in the ratio of 24:77 at a premium of Rs. 160 per share.
